As an engineer, I can’t help getting intrigued with machine automation, however, my greatest satisfaction comes from working with really creative people and the relationships we build with our customers that give us a chance to solve new problems every day.”

Steve Wright, Vice President. MS Mechanical Engineering, Florida Institute of Technology; MS, PhD, Duke University. Steve is, at heart, a materials scientist with a bent for applying novel technologies to difficult applications. As our resident ‘mad-scientist’, Steve has served as the Principal Investigator for numerous grants from the National Science Foundation, EPA, the Department of Energy, and several other agencies, and he holds several patents for advanced filtration technologies.

Ideas are easy; product development is hard work. It takes a dedicated team effort to take a concept from feasibility analysis to a finished product that is both technically sound and commercially viable. Engineers tend to get caught up making something technically elegant, but you should never lose sight of the fundamental business problem you’re trying to solve for your customer.

Dennis Cope, Operations Manager. BS Electrical Engineering UNC Charlotte; MS Operations Management, NC State. Dennis directs all aspect of engineering, manufacturing and customer relations and makes sure all the players on the team are well coordinated. His background in project management and capital equipment manufacturing give him an appreciation for what it means to be in the customer’s seat.

Engineers and machine builders need to work together from the very beginning of a project, to make sure what is designed can be built and what is built is robust and serves our customers’ needs. I’m the coach.
